It is the desire of the Foreign Office to get a

weekly return of all coal supplied to Swedish merchant

ships at ports of the British Empire. The reason for

requiring this information is in connection with an

arrangement for the release of supplies for Russia at

present held up in Sweden. I have to request you to

furnish this information to me every Monday until further

notice. It will be assumed in the absence of a weekly

telegram that no coal has been supplied during the preced-

ing week.
